The Leicester Public Schools adopted the Everyday Mathematics Program. This program was chosen because it has a proven record of success. The program is research based and it builds students' mathematical knowledge from the basics to higher-order thinking and critical problem solving. Everyday Mathematics helps your child’s teacher provide instructional experiences that reflect the Massachusetts Curriculum Frameworks as it prepares students for the MCAS.
However, Everyday Mathematics is different from how most adults learned math and may make helping your child with math a challenge. To help parents understand some of the key parts of the program, we are providing the following Internet links to resources. We hope that you will find them helpful.
